Last week I had the good fortune of stopping by a Good Earth Natural Foods store in Mill Valley, California, just north of San Francisco.  They have been in business since 1969 with the vision of providing the very best quality natural and organic foods they can find, with 95% of groceries currently being organic. I had just had a great visit to Muir Woods and Muir Beach, to visit the redwoods and ocean.

My phone battery was nearly dead from taking so many pictures and videos, and I had forgot my car charger on this trip, so I was hungry and didn’t know if my phone had enough juice to navigate me back to the hotel.  What a wonderful surprise to discover this store, get a healthy, hot meal, recharge my phone, and finally some groceries to go.

In the cafe area of the store I started reading their newsletter, chock full of good content.  I especially enjoyed reading 7 Affirmations for the New Year by Elson Haas, MD.   Specifically relevant to our store is number five:  “I allow myself enough sleep to rest my body nightly, thus recharging my batteries and supporting my immune strength to protect me from illness.”  All seven of the affirmations are excellent and I highly recommend taking a few minutes to read them:
